Royal Caribbean International’s GRANDEUR OF THE SEAS

Royal Caribbean International (Royal Caribbean) has notified the Commission that due to the fire it experienced this weekend, the company has cancelled the next six sailings of Royal Caribbean’s GRANDEUR OF THE SEAS. The ship is expected to return to service with the July 12 sailing.

• May 31
• June 7
• June 14
• June 21
• June 28
• July 5

Information for Passengers Booked on Canceled Cruises

Royal Caribbean has informed the Commission that it will provide passengers of the canceled cruises with the following:

Guests onboard the May 24, 2013, sailing of Grandeur of the Seas will receive:

• A full refund of the cruise fare paid, including taxes and fees
• Pre-paid gratuities and shore excursions will also be refunded
• A future cruise certificate for 100 percent of the value paid for the canceled cruise
• Royal Caribbean also has made arrangements at company expense to return the guests to Baltimore and, for guests needing to travel beyond Baltimore, Royal Caribbean will pay for any airfare change fees and increased fares for them to change their flight dates

Guests booked on the May 31, 2013, sailing of Grandeur of the Seas will receive:

• A full refund of the cruise fare paid, including taxes and fees
• Pre-paid gratuities and shore excursions also will be refunded
• A future cruise certificate for 50 percent of the value paid for the canceled cruise

For any sailings that may be canceled beyond May 31, 2013, Royal Caribbean will provide affected guests with:

• Payment for any airfare change fees
• A future cruise certificate for 25 percent of the value paid for the canceled cruise that may be used for a future cruise on Royal Caribbean International
• For the convenience of its guests, all monies paid will automatically be processed back to the original form of payment within the next three weeks
• Guests who are ready to rebook onto a future sailing, and prefer to reapply the funds prior to the refund process being completed, should do so prior to June 12. For guests or travel agents rebooking by June 12, please contact Royal Caribbean International at 888-824-0012. Otherwise guests may book at their convenience.

Royal Caribbean has also posted information on its website about the incident and the actions it is taking to assist guests scheduled to cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas.
