John K. DeCrosta to Serve as FMC Senior Advisor for Legislative and Public Affairs

Chairman Mario Cordero announced today that John K. DeCrosta will serve as the Federal Maritime Commission’s Senior Advisor for Legislative & Public Affairs. This position reports directly to the Chairman and coordinates all legislative and public affairs activities throughout the Commission.

Mr. DeCrosta has worked in both the government and private sectors. He began his career as a staff member for a U.S. Senator and subsequently held several government affairs positions in the maritime industry.
“The FMC plays a vital role in facilitating international oceanborne trade and it is important that as an organization, we promote interaction between our agency and those interested in our activities,” said Chairman Cordero.  “I am confident that John will help us maintain our commitment to transparent and responsive communications with Congress, the media, and the shipping public.”
Mr. DeCrosta is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and San Francisco State University.
The Federal Maritime Commission is the federal agency responsible for regulating the nation’s international ocean transportation for the benefit of exporters, importers, and the American consumer.
