Federal Maritime Commission employees donated generously to the 2013 Combined Federal Campaign, substantially exceeding the goal set and earning an Honor Award recognizing the Commission’s per-capita contribution. Last fall, Federal employees in the National Capital Area were challenged to raise $62 million in support of more than 4,000 local, national, and international charities that provide vital services in our local communities and around the world. Chairman Mario Cordero accepted the award on behalf of the agency and stated, ” I am proud of the compassion and community spirit FMC employees have shown. The collective strength of our CFC donations will do a lot over the coming year to deliver food to the hungry, educate and support our youth, research cures for diseases, and improve people’s lives.”
