Commissioners Maffei & Sola Travel to Gulf of Mexico Ports

Last month, Commissioners Daniel B. Maffei and Louis E. Sola traveled to several ports in the southeast to tour facilities and meet with industry stakeholders. The Commissioners also met with congressional staff members from the Alabama and Mississippi delegations. As a result of this trip, the Commissioners gained greater understanding of the industry trends, strengths, and challenges unique to this area of the country.

In Mobile, Alabama, the Commissioners toured the Port of Mobile and met with representatives of the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL). In Gulfport, Mississippi, the Commissioners toured the Port of Gulfport. The Commissioners also met with representatives from the Port of Pascagoula in their offices in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
