UPDATED – FMC Data Summit to be Held in Virtual Session Only

Posted

UPDATE— Due to rising COVID cases in Washington, DC, the June1, 2022 Maritime Transportation Data Initiative Summit will now be a completely virtual event.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided that the Data Summit is more safely conducted by shifting to an exclusively virtual platform. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes people, but safeguarding everyone’s health is the right decision,” said Commissioner Carl W. Bentzel.

The format for the Data Summit will remain the same.  The plenary session, which will be live-streamed, begins at 10:00 am (Eastern).

Following the Plenary session, participants will be in Federal Maritime Commission facilitated breakout sessions that will be closed to the public.

The Summit will conclude with a “report out” session from 1:15 pm to 1:45 pm (Eastern) that will also be live-streamed.

“I greatly value the support and level of participation that so many people have made to the MTDI.  The positive response of people to be here in Washington has been overwhelming and we greatly appreciate everyone’s commitment to the success of the MTDI.  This was an extremely difficult, but ultimately correct decision because we need to be safe,” said Commissioner Bentzel.
