Individuals who represent companies importing and exporting cargo to and from the United States gathered virtually Wednesday for the inaugural meeting of the Federal Maritime Commission’s National Shipper Advisory Committee.
Interested members of the public have until 5:00 PM (Eastern) Friday, October 22, 2021, to register to view the first meeting of the Federal Maritime Commission’s National Shipper Advisory Committee.
Ocean carriers should rapidly adopt three common best practices related to detention and demurrage that promote clarity and certainty about how and when fees will be assessed as well as how to challenge disputed charges.
